BMW E30 flush mount radio bracket (currently only for LHD)
Since most of the BMW (and also aftermarket) head units have thicker front panel they will protrude out from the E30 dashboard. This bracket allows the radios to be installed flush with the rest of the dashboard.
It is designed for BMW radios but can probably also be used with most of the aftermarket head units. The radios will sit 7mm deeper than originally. Tested with the following radio models:
◾ BMW Reverse RDS (and other BMW Blaupunkt models that use metal mounting frame)
◾ BMW Professional RDS (BE2450, BE2455)
◾ BMW C professional RDS (BE1801)
◾ BMW C Professional (BE0776)
◾ BMW Business CD (CD43)
◾ BMW Business CD RDS (CD23)
◾ BMW C Business (BE0774)
◾ BMW C Business RDS (KE-92 ZBM)
◾ BMW Business RDS (PH7850)
◾ BMW Business (C33 & C43 US/JP)
◾ Bremen SQR 46 DAB (need to file off 0,5mm from both sides as its metal frame is wider than the others)
The brim of the original radio frame needs to be removed so that the radio can go in deeper (with Dremel and small files it took me around 20 minutes in total). For fastening 3 already existing screws at the back are used + you could also apply some higher viscosity glue/silicone between the 3 reinforcement ribs at the top but it is not mandatory.
Please note that you would need to have some tools and skills to make this conversion and once the original lip is removed, there is no return back…
