BMW Professional RDS

This is the most expensive and the most capable radio model BMW ever offered for E31, E36 and Z3 but it can also easily be retrofitted to E30 and others.

This radio has high quality Qualcomm Bluetooth 5.0 module with hands-free function and preamp outputs. The radios buttons are NOT programmed to control the Bluetooth music playback like with Reverse RDS and Business RDS and is also missing is the possibility to program the display meaning in Bluetooth mode there is AM frequency displayed.

For the music input the AM function is disabled, all the other features will work as usual (FM, cassette and CD-changer). For activation just press the AM button – the sound quality is crystal clear.

Unlike the Reverse RDS this radio has CD-changer input. It also has Dolby Sound for the cassette, the best sound processing Becker offered at that time and i-bus which means it can be used with MF steering wheel buttons and E38 MID (as remote control for rear seat passengers).

Another unique feature is that the Professional models come with double FM tuners. The 3 letter FM station abbreviations will be displayed on the bottom row sorted by the reception strength that one tuner is constantly scanning for and the second tuner is responsible for the currently selected radio station (normal in E38 and many modern cars but not back then).
